Dear Catholic School Family:
Catholic school education is a priority that we all hold dear. To preserve it, to strengthen it and to revitalize it for generations to come, the Camden Diocese is embarking on an ambitious new initiative called “Faith in the Future.” In doing so, we will address today’s challenges and, simultaneously, lay the foundation for the long-term stability of Catholic school education and the unique learning opportunity it affords our children.
To achieve these objectives, we are implementing a community-based, collaborative planning process. As part of the process, every school in the Diocese has been assigned to a group or “Cluster” based upon geographic location and the community of School families and students living in each area. Three to five persons — including pastors from sending parishes, principals, and other lay leaders from each school in the group — will form a Cluster Steering Committee. The committee will evaluate each school’s demographic information, financial reports, facilities and religious and academic program as it develops recommendations for the future of Catholic school education within its cluster.
There will be challenges and difficult decisions ahead. To ensure the viability of Catholic school education for future generations, sacrifices may need to be made. For this reason, the prayer, support and input of our school families are essential to our progress. At the same time, we are committed to keeping you informed as lay men and women, clergy and religious of the Diocese undertake this important work.
We invite you to visit this website regularly for important information about the planning process, to offer your feedback, and for ongoing updates.
We thank you for choosing Catholic Schools and for your commitment to the continued success of Catholic education. We look forward to working together to build a new foundation for our Catholic schools and to ensuring a bright and successful future for our children for years to come.
Sincerely in Christ,
Most Reverend Joseph A. Galante, D.D., J.C.D.
Bishop of Camden
