The Office of Life & Justice Ministries

The Diocese of Camden’s Life & Justice Ministries serves the Catholics of South Jersey by working with clergy and laity to promote a consistent ethic of life, rooted in Scripture and Tradition.  The work of Life & Justice flows from the understanding that Catholics are called to be a leaven for transforming society, inspired by God’s grace to bring about God’s reign of love and justice.

In this office, we engage in education, formation, and advocacy around important social matters like abortion, immigration, hunger, poverty, racism, physician assisted suicide, the death penalty, global solidarity, and care for the environment…

Contact the department to lead workshops at parishes, to consult with parishioners hoping to animate a life & justice ministry in their community, and to spotlight the life & justice work being done throughout the diocese.

WHY THE AMPERSAND?

Here in the Diocese of Camden, there is no Respect Life Office. There is no Justice and Peace Office. Instead, we have what we’re calling “Life & Justice Ministries.”
The ampersand — & — in the title is the most important part: it unites our efforts on behalf of human life and social justice. They are impossible to separate. We are called to protecting human life and dignity from the moment of conception onward, all the way to natural death, including every moment in between.
