Workshop on family, catechesis and evangelization

A workshop for parish priests and ministers on helping parents recognize their role in fostering faith-filled families will take place next month in two different locations and in two different languages.
The diocesan offices of Hispanic Ministry, Faith & Family Life, and Evangelization are sponsoring “Family in the Heart of Catechesis and Evangelization,” which will reinforce how a life of faith and missionary discipleship in families can be cultivated through faith formation and evangelization.
Guest speakers for the all-day sessions will be Dulce Jimenez, director of Bilingual Religion Markets for William H. Sadlier, New York, and Father Alejandro Lopez-Cardinale  from the Archdiocese of Boston, president of La RED (National Network of Pastoral Juvenil Hispana).
Andres Arango, Bishop’s delegate for Hispanic Ministry and director of evangelization for the diocese of Camden, sees the workshop “as a concrete answer to one of the priorities and recommendations provided for the Hispanic community around the diocese during the V Encuentro process.” He added that “this event will give our pastoral leaders key practical tools to evangelize our families.”
The English-language presentation will take place on Friday, May 10, at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, Sicklerville, while the Spanish-language gathering will be the next day, Saturday, May 11, at the Saint John Paul II Retreat House in Vineland. Both events are from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., include lunch and are free to all.
