Goals & Objectives

Promote a vibrant ministry that will spiritually nurture and sustain Black Catholics within the Diocese and that will ensure the survival, growth, and liturgical expression of Black Catholics in the Diocese who originated from Africa, Haiti, North and South America, or elsewhere in the African Diaspora.
Evangelize Blacks outside of the Catholic community to grow the Black Catholic community.
Foster understanding, appreciation and respect of Black Catholic culture and worship among all Catholics within the Diocese for the continuing conversion and transformation of the faithful into the one body of Christ.
Be a voice to the Bishop for the diverse populations of Black Catholics within the Diocese.
Create opportunities for and foster support of greater Black Catholic involvement in lay ministry for leadership at the parish and diocesan levels.
Promote interest in vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious congregations among the Black Catholic community and work to remove barriers where they exist.
