Tenth National Black Catholic Congress

Thirty youth and adult delegates representing the Diocese of Camden will join over 2,000 black Catholics from across the United States and from the Continent of Africa in Buffalo, New York for the Tenth National Black Catholic Congress, which convenes on July 12, 2007 and concludes on July 15, 2007.

The Congress, which is held every five years, is sponsored by National Black Catholic Congress Office, home based in Baltimore, Maryland, and supported by the African American Bishops of the United States. Bishop George V. Murry, SJ, newly installed Bishop of the Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio, who was born and raised Camden, New Jersey, will be homilist at the opening ceremony on Thursday evening, July 12, 2007.
