As Colombians and Latinos, we profess the Catholic religion. So one of my priorities when I came to this beautiful country was to make sure that my daughters could continue to receive a quality education like they had in Bogotá, not only academically but also with strong values and principles.
I believe that a good education is the best inheritance parents can give to their children. That is why I always knew that I wanted to send my daughters to a Catholic school. I consider that all the financial efforts and the daily sacrifices are worth it. My daughter Valentina is currently studying fashion design at the European Design Institute. She has an impressive maturity. She knows what she wants and focuses on achieving it. Above all, she has strong faith and spirituality, with a great sensitivity to injustices and inequities toward the most vulnerable. Although being away from her represents an emotional sacrifice for the family, without a doubt the fruits of her invaluable Catholic education at Paul VI High School in Haddonfield are reflected in her personal and professional growth and development.
My other daughter, Anna, is currently in seventh grade at Guardian Angels Catholic School in Gibbstown, where she greatly enjoys her theater and art classes. In addition, her entry in a national creative writing contest was recently selected for publication. The contest received 13,500 entries. I enjoy watching her progress academically as she learns from our faith and develops in her artistic abilities.
As a mother, I am proud of my daughters. I am convinced that the best decision I have made in the United States was to send my daughters to Catholic school. In addition to its Catholic principles and values, Paul VI High School has a wide range of invaluable art and design programs, with all kinds of audiovisual resources that made a difference in Valentina’s fashion design career. Guardian Angels is an elementary school where, like Paul VI High School, academic excellence, comprehensive education and a friendly family environment are priorities.
I recommend Paul VI High School and Guardian Angels Regional School, or any of our Catholic schools in the Diocese of Camden.
