Rod Herrera, director of the Diocese's Office of Child and Youth Protection, will be honored at the 2014 CAP Awards – March 28

Rod J. Herrera, director of the Camden Diocese’s Office of Child and Youth Protection, will be among those honored at the 2014 CAP Awards Luncheon this month for their role in protecting the children of New Jersey.

Herrera will receive the CAP 2014 Faith-Based Award for coordinating Child Assault Prevention workshops to the staff and parents of the diocese’s churches and schools for more than 10 years.

The ceremony will be held Friday, March 28, at the Princeton Hyatt Regency. Bishop Dennis Sullivan will give the invocation and accept the award for Herrera, who is unable to attend.

In all, there will be 25 award recipients from throughout the state. Presentations to the honorees will
be made by representatives from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Department of Children and Families, Department of Education, Division of Families and Community Partnerships, Division of Children Protection and Permanency, Task Force on Child Abuse & Neglect and CAP Advisory Board.
