Retreat for Healthcare Professionals May 18

The South Jersey Catholic Medical Association presents, “Responders

to the Holy Spirit,” a day of recollection for healthcare professionals on Sat., May 18 at the Discovery Retreat Center, 3730 Richards Ave., in Mullica Township.

The retreat, which begins at 12 noon with a light lunch, includes reflections on St. Giuseppe Moscati – Doctor to the Poor, facilitated by Carmen Ciervo, D.O., and St. Gianna Baretta Molla, facilitated by Joseph Hong, M.D. Both St. Giuseppe and St. Gianna are “Models of Spirit Responders,” as saints and physicians of the twentieth century.

Following the reflections, a panel will discuss, “How can doctors, nurses and healthcare providers become spirit responders today?”

The retreat ends with a Vigil Mass to celebrate Pentecost at 4:15 p.m. with Rev. Albert E. Harshaw, spiritual director of the SJCMA as the celebrant and Rev. Mark Aita, S.J., M.D. as the homilist.

The cost for the day is $15 for those who register in advance and $20 for those who register on site. The fee for medical students is $3. Members of the South Jersey Medical Association may attend free of charge.
