Deacon Leo McBlain is co-director of the Office of the Permanent Diaconate. Deacon McBlain manages those deacons already ordained and serving. He is responsible for the continuing formation program for deacons; for facilitating the Bishop’s Council of Deacons; and the evaluation of deacons in ministry.

Deacon Michael Carter is co-director of the Office of the Permanent Diaconate. Deacon Carter serves as the “vocations director” for the diaconate and oversees the recruitment, discernment and formation of deacon candidates. In addition, he facilitates the Diaconate Personnel Board and maintains/updates policies pertaining to the exercise of diaconal ministry.
