Camden Diocese found fully compliant with Charter

The Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People which was adopted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in June 2002 directs all dioceses to establish “safe environment” programs.

These programs are to provide education and training for children, youth and adults about ways to make and maintain a safe environment for children. The Charter also directs all dioceses to evaluate the backgrounds of all adults who have regular contact with minors.

New Jersey CAP Training

In the Diocese of Camden, the safe environment program in the Catholic elementary schools is New Jersey CAP which is implemented each year. Click here for a list of CAP Training events and information on the program.

The Diocese of Camden provides a comprehensive program of outreach to victims of sexual abuse by clergy and other church personnel of the diocese This includes the provision of counseling, spiritual assistance, and other support services. For more information on Victims Assistance click here.
