Because of the anticipated merging and consolidation of parishes throughout the diocese, the Office of Human Resources is sponsoring a diocese wide pre-retirement seminar for all full and part time employees, regardless of age. Spouses are also invited and encouraged to attend the seminar. The purpose of the seminar is to assist employees in planning for future retirement as well as determining the most beneficial time to retire.
Four major retirement related topics will be presented during the seminar with time for questions and answers. The topics are as follows.
- Social Security and the available retirement options, and;
- The Diocese Lay Employee Pension Plan; and,
- Medicare/Health Insurance including Medicare Part D; and,
- 403(b), 401(k) Investment Plans and IRAs.
The seminar is scheduled to be conducted at the following location.

There will be a mid morning break between sessions.
In order to prepare the proper number of packets and handouts, employees are asked register for the seminar no later than June 18, 2009. Please see the attached announcement. All attendees will receive a packet of information upon arrival related to the topics to be covered during each presentation.
