On February 8, 2007, Bishop Galante announced decisions regarding the first four (4) of 12 school planning clusters representing 17 Catholic elementary schools in the diocese. The remaining eight (8) clusters, representing 35 schools, are now engaged in the school planning process.
Steering committee members for these eight clusters were selected in fall, 2006. A Steering Committee training session was then held in February, while meetings to study demographics, finances, facilities, transportation, academic/religion programs will be held through May, 2007. Recommendations are due to the Superintendent of Schools for review and feedback by June 13, 2007. Final decisions by Bishop Joseph Galante are anticipated in late November 2007. Preparation for implementation will take place Fall 2007-June 2008 and will be in effect with the start of the school year in Sept. 2008.
