Nursing Home Employees to move from Diocese of Camden to Center Management Group

On August 20, 2015, the Diocese of Camden announced that an agreement had been reached to sell the residential health care facility and the three nursing homes which are operated in conjunction with the Diocese of Camden to the Catholic Health Group division of Center Management Group.
The three nursing homes are Our Lady’s Residence in Pleasantville which was purchased in 1966, Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland which was purchased in 1975, and St. Mary’s Catholic Home in Cherry Hill which was opened in 1952. The residential health care facility is The Manor at St. Mary’s, which was opened in Cherry Hill in 1991.
The sale is currently going through the customary regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalized before the end of the year.
At the beginning of October, the employees and their union representatives were formally notified that the operations of the facilities would be transferred on December 1.
The employees and their union representatives were also advised that the new owner is contractually obligated to provide employment to all non-executive employees of the facilities, at the same level of compensation, and on the same general terms of employment, that currently prevail, or to provide a severance package to those whose employment is not continued. The facilities anticipate that most, if not all, of the employees will retain their positions.
St. Mary’s Home and the Manor, Bishop McCarthy Residence and Our Lady’s Residence value the service and dedication of the employees who have served their residents for many years.  It was this which prompted the facilities’ resolve in obtaining for them a just and fair compensation package as part of the transfer of operations, as well as the facilities’ concern that this be to an organization that has a reputation for treating employees fairly and justly.
