The most efficient means of communicating with the Tribunal is to write directly to the Tribunal. Always include your case number if one has been assigned. Phone calls, third party interventions and unscheduled appearances to obtain information about a specific case must be avoided. The Tribunal will always respond by letter.
This will maintain confidentiality and accuracy. Contacting the Tribunal by fax or letter will insure that your communication is accessible to the lawyers, case managers, advocates and secretaries who will be working on your case, always keeping it updated. Phone calls should only be made regarding appointments.
If two monthly letters to the Petitioner requesting specific action/information remain unanswered, the Tribunal will conclude that the Petitioner is no longer interested in pursuing the case, and the case will then be placed in the Inactive File.
