Gloucester Catholic trio heading to West Point

For the first time in its 83-year history, three seniors from the graduating

class of Gloucester Catholic High School have been admitted to the West Point Military Academy.

Brandon Wethman, Nicholas Marks and Devin McCall were nominated earlier this year by their local congressman, U.S. Representatives Rob Andrews and Frank Lobiondo.

To qualify, applicants are judged on character, scholarship, leadership, physical aptitude, medical fitness, goals and motivation.

John Colman, principal of Gloucester Catholic, said the three are among the school’s top students in the Class of 2013.

Brandon was president of the Honor Society, a member of the school’s history club and Civil Air Patrol. Nick and Devin were members of the school’s swim team and were among the top swimmers in New Jersey scholastic athletics in the past two seasons. Devin is also a member of the National Honor Society Marian chapter.
