As the United States Senate considers an amendment to the Constitution protecting marriage as a union of one man and one woman, parishioners in the 124 parishes of the Diocese of Camden have been encouraged to express their support for the amendment through a special postcard campaign.
The campaign will be undertaken in collaboration with the five Catholic dioceses of New Jersey and the Knights of Columbus. The bishops of New Jersey are urging all Catholics to urge their senators to vote in favor of the Protection of Marriage Amendment by completing the postcards, which will be available in churches on the weekend of May 20 – 21, and returning them in the collection basket. The parishes will send the postcards to Senators Lautenberg and Menendez next week.
