An Interfaith Commemoration of the Jewish Seder entitled “A Passover Ritual” will be held:
Rev. Joseph Wallace of the diocese’s Office of Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Affairs and pastor of Christ the King Parish, Haddonfield, along with Rabbi Jerome David, Temple Emanuel, Cherry Hill will preside at the Seder. The Passover meal will include Jewish liturgy and traditional Seder music. The event is an opportunity to foster understanding and appreciation for the faith traditions of the Jewish and Catholic people of South Jersey.
Pope Benedict XVI has called for continued improvement in Jewish-Christian relations through dialogue and solidarity, stressing the common roots and the rich spiritual heritage that Jews and Christians share. “Much progress has been made [but] much remains to be done. We must come to know one another much more and much better,” he said during his visit to the Synagogue in Cologne last summer.
A donation of $20 per person is requested. For more information or to register please contact the St. Pius X Spiritual Life Center of the Diocese of Camden at 856-227-1436.
