Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Camden will host a “Walk for Solidarity,” followed by a multi-cultural Thanksgiving dinner:
The dinner, which will feature traditional American foods, as well as those from Africa, Southeast Asia, Central America and Turkey, will be preceded by a “Walk for Solidarity.” Both are aimed at not only raising awareness of the issues that many refugees face as they come into our communities, but also celebrating the rich cultures of refugees from around the world through their festive foods.
The 25-30 refugees expected to attend will be provided with information about the services that Catholic Charities provides, including resettlement services, emergency financial assistance, counseling, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Diocesan personnel, parishioners, high students, community residents and other community members also will be participating. Bishop Joseph Galante will offer brief remarks, as well as a blessing before the meal.
