Catholic Business Network Breakfast – Faith, Media and the Election Sept. 9

On Friday, September 9, the Catholic Business Network will host its monthly breakfast, this month featuring a panel of Catholic journalists discussing this year’s election and how they report on the Church.

The panel features longtime journalists Pat Ciarrocchi, Bill Roswell and Monica Avery and will be moderated by Michael Walsh, Director of Communications for the Diocese of Camden.

Philadelphia’s longest tenured female anchor, before retiring earlier this year, Pat Ciarrocchi has been a constant and trusted source for local news for more than 30 years.  She has anchored several CBS 3 programs and has received numerous awards including multiple Emmy Awards, Individual achievement in News Writing, Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, Recognition from Italian-American Community, Knight of the Order of Merit from Italian Republic, Gabriel Award, CEBA Award, Excellence Black Audience and Sarah award and many others.

As KYW Newsradio’s Director of Digital News and Media, Bill Roswell has reported on and helped direct coverage of many of the biggest events in the station’s history, including the 1985 Move confrontation, Live Aid and Live 8, and the elections of Pope Benedict in 2005 and Pope Francis in 2013. He has received numerous awards over the years, including an Edward R. Murrow award for coverage of the death of Pope John Paul II.

Monica Avery is an Emmy Award-winning Producer of CBS 3 Eyewitness News at 5 PM. A graduate of Temple University, she worked her way through the journalism ranks of newspapers, radio and TV in and around the South Jersey area.  Monica is most proud of her work producing live TV coverage for various non-profit fundraising efforts, including CBS 3’s “Alex Scott: A Stand for Hope Telethon,” which over the past 10 years has helped raise millions of dollars for childhood cancer research.

The Catholic Business Network Breakfast will be held at Woodcrest Country Club, 300 East Evesham Road, Cherry Hill, N.J. from 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM. To register, go to http://goo.gl/1pNid4 or contact Sheila McGirl at Sheila.McGirl@camdendiocese.org or (856) 583-2874.
