Part-Time Middle School Science Teacher

Our Lady Star of the Sea School, a vibrant PreK–8 Catholic school in Atlantic City, is seeking a part-time Middle School Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an enthusiastic, student-centered educator who is passionate about science and committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence in a faith-filled learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Teach middle school science to students in Grades 6–8.
- Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on, standards-based science instruction.
- Foster inquiry, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning.
- Integrate technology and laboratory experiences into instruction.
- Assess student learning and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff.
- Support the mission and values of Catholic education.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey teaching certification (or eligibility) in Science or Elementary Education with appropriate middle school experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Experience integrating technology into instruction.
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Practicing Catholic preferred but not required.
Schedule:
- Part-time position (approximately 15–25 hours per week).
- Flexible schedule to be determined based on the successful candidate’s availability and the school schedule.
Salary:
Competitive and commensurate with experience. (est. $18,000 – 25,000)
