More than 200 youth and their adult leaders, representing 30 parishes and schools in the diocese, will attend a one-day Youth Congress,on Sunday, March 22 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 176 Stage Coach Rd., Sicklerville.
The Youth Congress, with the theme “Written in Our Hearts,” is a one-day experience of prayer and evangelization for Catholic teenagers (grades 8-12) to make new friends, explore their faith through service, and connect more deeply with God. The event is sponsored by the Office of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministries of the Diocese of Camden.
The guest speaker, among others, will be Kelly Colangelo, a nationally recognized speaker and youth minister from Tallahassee, FL.
The activities, which take place from 1 – 7:30 p.m., include liturgy, prayer, informational sessions, workshops, and special service opportunities led by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Camden. They will include opportunities for the teens to participate in “Feeding the Hungry” and “Clothing the Naked” outreach programs in the cities of Camden and Atlantic City as well as “Visiting the Imprisoned” with teens making rosaries to support local prison ministries.
In addition, Bishop Dennis Sullivan will celebrate the closing Mass at 6:30 p.m. for participants and their families.
