Most Reverend Joseph A. Galante, D.D., J.C.D., Bishop of Camden, will ordain Rene Canales, of Pleasantville, Allain B. Caparas, of Maywood, and Christopher M. Markellos, of Mantua, to the priesthood on:
Canales, 31, originally from El Salvador, is a graduate of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. He served as a deacon at St. Mary’s Parish in Williamstown. He will offer his first Mass on the same day as his ordination, May 20, at 5 PM at St. Padre Pio Parish in Vineland.
The following day, May 21, he will also celebrate Mass at 11:15 AM at St. Mary’s Parish in Williamstown. Caparas, 30, is a graduate of Seton Hall University and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. He served as a deacon at St. Joseph’s Pro Cathedral in Camden. He will offer his first Mass on May 21 at 3 PM at his home parish, Our Lady Queen of Peace in Maywood. Markellos, 28, is a graduate of Paul VI High School, Haddon Township, and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. He served as a deacon at St. Isidore’s Parish in Vineland. He will offer his first Mass on May 21 at 2 PM at his home parish, Incarnation in Mantua.
Later this summer, Bishop Galante will ordain John Delaney, 25, from Blackwood who studied for four years at the Pontifical North American College in Rome and has served as a deacon there since October. The ordination will be celebrated on July 15, at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Camden.
