The Office of Youth, Young Adult & Campus Ministries is hosting a one-day Youth Congress, “Know, Love, Serve!” to celebrate Catholic Youth Ministry on Sunday, April 13 at Incarnation Parish in Mantua.
The Youth Congress is a one-day experience of prayer and evangelization for Catholic teenagers (grades 8-12) to make new friends, explore their faith through service and connect more deeply with God.
Speakers will include Thomas Awiapo from Catholic Relief Services who trains community leaders throughout Ghana, and David Bisono, the Hispanic Youth Coordinator of the Charismatic Renewal in Brooklyn, New York.
Last year, 280 young people and their adult chaperones participated in the Youth Congress sponsored by the Camden Diocese.
The activities, which take place from 1 to 7 p.m., include liturgy, prayer, a general session, workshops, and a special service opportunity by Catholic Relief Services entitled “Helping Hands,” a unique hands on volunteer event founded on Matthew 25:35 and the Catholic call to social justice. The youth will be packaging 25,000 meals for the hungry in West Africa and learning about the good work of Catholic Relief Services.
Bishop Dennis Sullivan will celebrate the closing Mass at 5 p.m.
