Seven men will be ordained to the Order of the Permanent Diaconate on Sat., May 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation in Mantua.
The men to be ordained are: Craig A. Bickel of Haddon Heights, James J. Hallman of Williamstown, Robert W. Hamilton of Audubon, Leo M. Howitz of Collingswood, Robert G. Oliver of Mays Landing, Joseph G. Rafferty of Gloucester, and J. Peter Traum of Mantua.
Through the imposition of hands and the invocation of the Holy Spirit by Bishop Dennis J. Sullivan, the men will be ordained. After they are called by Deacon Leo McBlain, director of the Office of the Diaconate, the men will be presented to the bishop, who affirms that “we choose these, our brothers for the Order of the Diaconate.”
In the next few weeks, the deacons will be given their assignments to serve in both parish and diocesan ministries.
