Goals of the Diocesan Office of Worship and Christian Initiation

To implement the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy and all follow-up liturgical documents of the Church through education
To model good liturgy, in practical ways through the planning and coordination of diocesan celebrations
To develop liturgical spirituality among clergy and faithful
To review plans for building or renovation of churches in the diocese so that liturgy may be celebrated in accordance with liturgical law
To act as liturgical advisor to the Bishop in his role as diocesan liturgist

To accomplish its tasks, the diocesan Office of Worship has developed various programs and services that are available to parishes and diocesan agencies:

preparation of Special Ministers of the Eucharist
planning and executing diocese-wide workshops
planning and coordinating special diocesan liturgical celebrations
acting as a resource on liturgy and ritual for parish liturgical coordinators, committees, ministers and diocesan offices
supporting parish music ministers through sponsorship of a diocesan chapter of NPM (National Pastoral Musicians)
assisting parishes in the full implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), with catechumenates for adults, teenagers and children
collaborating with and implementing the work done by the diocesan Liturgical Commission
